The distillery’s founder, Masataka Taketsuru, selected this site for its resemblance to Scotland’s whisky-making environment. Established in 1934, Yoichi distillery has remained the guardian of Nikka’s whisky tradition.
Traditional Craftsmanship
The Yoichi Single Malt is crafted using time-honored methods, including direct coal heating. This technique imparts a distinct smoky flavor, a hallmark of Yoichi malts.
