Historical Inspiration

Kirk and Sweeney was a wooden schooner renowned for smuggling rum from the Caribbean to the Northeast during Prohibition. In 1924, it was seized off the New York coast with a massive rum cargo. Renamed “Chase,” it served as a Coast Guard trainer until the late 1940s. This rum honors that adventurous spirit.

Unique Design

The bottle design is steeped in history. An antique nautical map of the main East Coast smuggling route is silkscreened around the circumference. The canvas sailcloth neck features the Dominican Republic coat of arms and a vintage USCG citation. The ornate logo and nautical brass-like safety seal evoke the 1920s rum-running era. Inspired by 18th-century onion bottles, the raised cork and squat bottle shape add an authentic touch.

Production: Handcrafted Excellence

Handcrafted in the Dominican Republic, this rum adheres to strict regulations to earn the title “Dominican Rum.” It begins with hand-harvested, high-quality sugarcane. The sugarcane byproduct, Blackstrap Molasses, is carefully fermented and distilled. The rum is then oak-barreled in American and French oak, ensuring a quality that is well worth pursuing.
